Recording of do it. conference with Netviewer Present

Category: events, netviewer, presentSandra @ 11:31 am

Two weeks ago, we were at the do it. conference in Stuttgart. We were curious about what would expect us behind the motto “where creativity meets technology”.

Therefore, we participated at the opening speech of Klaus Haasis (director of MFG Baden Württemberg). He talked about seven trends for the digital future. After that, we visited the “trends of online communication” panel. The most interesting presentation for us was the one from Prof. Dr. Ralf Schengber (Uni Münster). He introduced community marketing to us. Really, well worth seeing him in action! Also thrilling was the discourse of René Marius Köhler, the young CEO of fahrrad.de. He told us how he build up his company and how to grow successfully.

In order to give you the chance to participate as well, we streamed some of the (German speaking) presentations with Netviewer Present. You can see them here.

Netviewer Present - current situation on recordings

Category: presentWidmann @ 1:47 pm

As you propably noticed we faced some problems in the latest live streamings and the resulting recordings.

With Version 1.0 of Netviewer Present we switched to a new recording technology.

Unfortunately the new recording technology doesn´t meet our expectations due to the following disadvantages:

- quality of recording is lower then Live Presentation due to converter

- recordings are only available long time after Live Presentation (up to several hours)

- Recordings of more then 15 minutes must be converted manually

- Recordings don´t start immediately after you press play (can take up to several minutes)

This is why we decided to switch back to the old recording technology.

However this will need resources and time to develop and implement this technology and will happen in 2 steps.

Release 10.10. (today)

- Recordings will start immediately after you press play

Release 13.11.

Switchback to old recording technology

All above mentioned disadvantages are gone.

Recordings will be in same quality as the Live Presentation and be instantly available.

Scrolling functions (fast forward, pause) will not be available any more.

We decided to post this issue in the blog to reach as many of you as possible and let you know that this is the main development focus in the moment.
