New Release Netviewer Present

Category: netviewer, presentWidmann @ 12:47 pm

Here a quick update on Netviewer Present:

1. New Release rolled out 27.11.2008

The following main improvements have been done:

-         PDF upload possible

-         systemcheck integrated in Present -> users get information if & why they can´t get access to Live-Presentations or Recordings
(possible reasons: necessary Ports closed or behind proxy)

-         faster testing of all possible ports to get into Presentations or recordings

-         new recording process implemented (see below)

-         finetuning & bugfixing

-         waiting room”: detailed information if you click on planned presentations or E-Mail invitations before Live-Presentation is supposed to be on air.

2. Update on recordings

The longer the duration of recordings is, the more important are scrolling functions (pause, fast forward, rewind).

This is why we decided to implement the following recording process:

a)       Recordings < 5 min
Recording will be in Live-Quality, but without scrolling

b)       Recordings > 5 min
Recording will be captured. Recording have scrolling functions but lower quality.

3. Outlook

Major next features under development are

a) higher PDF quality in live sessions and recordings (normal screen and fullscreen)

b) waiting room part II: direct access from waiting room to live presentation as soon as live presentation is started

Recording of do it. conference with Netviewer Present

Category: events, netviewer, presentSandra @ 11:31 am

Two weeks ago, we were at the do it. conference in Stuttgart. We were curious about what would expect us behind the motto “where creativity meets technology”.

Therefore, we participated at the opening speech of Klaus Haasis (director of MFG Baden Württemberg). He talked about seven trends for the digital future. After that, we visited the “trends of online communication” panel. The most interesting presentation for us was the one from Prof. Dr. Ralf Schengber (Uni Münster). He introduced community marketing to us. Really, well worth seeing him in action! Also thrilling was the discourse of René Marius Köhler, the young CEO of fahrrad.de. He told us how he build up his company and how to grow successfully.

In order to give you the chance to participate as well, we streamed some of the (German speaking) presentations with Netviewer Present. You can see them here.
